Today.... I sat down to read some blogs and saw how neglected my own was! SO then I headed over to start writing.
I have been substitute teaching for several years now and as rewarding as it has been it just is not steady enough work. So I am on the hunt.
The girls are doing great and we are so ready for this cold to break!! I thought today would be a little nicer but it has been spitting flurries all day. I am posting a pic of the girls in their cheer attire. Upward was a unique experience this year, having a coach who did not keep it faith based was a little rough for me. Eva and I spoke about it and after praying Britt and I have decided to coach Evas cheer team next year!! She is soooo excited and I am too. Brittaine is on the countdown for her Senior year and I am finding it hard to believe. I love how much they love each other!! I pray for their relationship to be so close as they grow older.
We have had one soccer practice so far and Eva is loving it will update more later.
I have also decided to start posting so random recipes that I make. Since being home I am enjoying trying lots of Pintrest recipes on the fam!!! Most have been hits but a few have been let downs.

Off and running!!
Well school has been happening for about 6 weeks now and for us that means football, football, football. Most of you know Britt is a cheerleader and that means we see a lot of football games. Eric and I love it Eva not so much. The first quarter she is good with popcorn. The second she is still pretty good, waiting for the half-time show. Then comes the third quarter, MOM can we go, MOM is it close to over, MOM.... you get the picture right. HAHA Then once we are home she is so juiced up from the game she wants to stay up for awhile.
A couple of weeks ago the North cheerleaders had a clinic. I was privileged enough to head up the clinic for the $$ for new warm-ups and Eva was privileged enough to be able to do it with her big sister. So I will leave you with the pic... I enjoyed it!

The day after the first day!
Well today is the day after the first day of school. Eva had a very hard time going to sleep Thursday night due to her excitement. I bet I heard I cant wait til tomorrow 1000 times!! Britt on the other had could wait. She is disappointed of course due to her 16 1/2 is not til October and of course every one in her Jr class is driving but her ( according to her) and uniforms are not her cup of tea. I kinda like it less decisions on what to wear. Oh, that is how I felt until she was having a hard time this morning on khakis, capris, or shorts!! REALLY!! I said just put something on. I think we are going to have to treat her like eva and make her choose the night before. Well I am going to post the pics and of course Britt did not want hers so it is a out the door shot!

August Already
July was here and passed by so fast. The fourth this year was a first for us. Evansville has been so dry that we were not able to set off fireworks. We spent the day like normal and went to my parents and cooked out but no fireworks. With Brittanie being at her Dad's house we took Eva to the river for the city fireworks. As most of you know Eva is not a fan of fireworks but they are nothing to be afraid of so we try and try to let her know that. Well, she was ok with them but quickly found my lap then went from watching to head down in my lap. The fireworks were good and made me of course think of how great our country is, and how Great our God is!!
The rest of the month some how flew by, I did get a part time job working for a gentleman that attends our church. He is running for judge in family court. I at first was just about getting a part-time job but of course God had a hand in it. I truly believe that what he wants to do in family court is great. After being in a divorce and have been through so hard times with Britt along the way, I think that change is necessary! The job is only til November so we will see what happens from that.
August is here and of course that means Eric's Birthday, Our Anniversary, and back to school. Since we are going to surprise Eric today I am not spoiling any surprise by telling you we bought him golf tees, balls, and a pass for 12 large baskets at the driving range. He has been playing golf a little this summer and we bought him clubs for fathers day so we are excited to give him his gift. Guys are so hard to buy for anyway.
So today we are dropping Britt off at a cheer car wash and then running errands. I love Saturdays yet know we are going to be busy... so off I go. Until next time I want to leave you with a verse that has been resonating with me the last two weeks.
2 Kings 4:30 But the child's mother said, "As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you." So he got up and followed her.

June
Well June has gone by so fast it is hard to believe. This week is VBS at our church. Eva is in the first grade class and is loving it! She looks forward to it the minute she sees it in the bulletin and we have a count down. She is the yellow group and loves that she got a yellow bracelet. Our theme is aviation and even though that took a little explaining she loves the thought of flying around. We learned our first song "amazing" and it has some wonderful hand movements!! I hope to be able to post a little video later in the week.

Last Day
Well it is Monday and while it is not the last day of school it is the last day I will be home for more than five minuets by myself. This year has gone by so fast. It seems like we have been talking about Eva going to kindergarten and Britt turning 16 forever. Well now that has all passed us by! I love seeing my girls grow and every day is a surprise but today hit me hard as I was getting breakfast ready. Eva was sitting at the bar reading away and Britt of course looking at her phone I just stared and realized how far they have come this year. They are both really such great kids!!
So as the summer officially begins this Wednesday at 2:10 for Eva and 2:45 for Britt I just want to say thanks to all my family and friends who help me with these two great girls!! I am really blessed to have such great people to walk this journey with.
LET THE SUMMER BEGIN!!!!!
